Matiu Kaufusi
CEO and Founder
Tongan Representative
Matiu Kaufusi was born in Ha’apai, Tonga, and began his education at Tonga High School. With a vision for a better life, he migrated to New Zealand, where he built a meaningful career grounded in service, community, and cultural connection.

About Me.
Matiu holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), a Diploma in Business, and a Diploma in Mental Health. For many years, he operated his own Family Day Care (FDC), providing essential care to children from diverse backgrounds — particularly those with high needs and from single-parent households. His service was a lifeline for many mothers working overtime to support their families, and he created a space where children could thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally.
In addition to his work in early childhood education, Matiu is deeply passionate about supporting Tongan and Māori men facing mental health challenges. With cultural understanding and compassion, he fosters strong, respectful relationships, advocating for mental health support and empowerment. His goal is to help these men lead healthier, happier lives by breaking down stigma and building pathways to healing
